Memory and Aging Program at Butler Hospital
Produce a periodical magazine that will serve to educate the public about Alzheimer’s disease and related research; engage existing and new participants, volunteers, and supporters of the Memory and Aging Program at Butler Hospital, a world-wide leader in Alzheimer’s prevention and treatment research; and highlight the program’s substantial work and impact in the field of Alzheimer’s research among peers worldwide.
Magazine, published three times per year and distributed to participants of the program’s research studies and Alzheimer’s Prevention Registry, as well as members of the community and other healthcare providers.
Both quantitative and qualitative evidence shows the Memory Matters newsletter and its associated content has been an invaluable tool in raising awareness of the need for increased Alzheimer’s disease research, elevating the stature of the Memory and Aging Program, and increasing participation in and support for the program’s research initiatives.
While it’s not possible to estimate the total readership of the hard copy edition of the magazine, the feature pieces produced for the newsletter have received tens of thousands of page views online, and social media posts about those features have garnered extensive user engagement.
Enrollment in the Alzheimer’s Prevention Registry at Butler Hospital (which is used to source willing volunteers for ongoing and new research studies and trials) almost tripled between 2019 and 2020 and continues to grow. This is the result of the Memory and Aging Program’s overall marketing communications efforts, of which the Memory Matters magazine and associated content is a major component.
