WHZ Strategic Wealth Advisors is a small but fast-growing independent financial planning and wealth management firm. The firm needed a refreshed brand and marketing strategy that would build awareness in new markets while also differentiating it from the competition.
The firm’s key differentiator is its ability to provide hyper-personalized and agile financial planning and wealth management services via its array of experience, technology, and tools, but especially its person-centered operations and delivery on its mission of providing the best possible experience at every touchpoint, as evidenced by the firm’s “world-class” level net promoter score and 99% client retention rate.

Based on the provided document and project knowledge, here’s a condensed overview of WHZ’s comprehensive marketing strategy:
- Strategic Foundation & Research We conducted extensive market research across four Connecticut counties (Windham, Tolland, Hartford, and New London) to identify the target opportunity for WHZ’s key audience segments. Through competitive analysis and client interviews, we identified WHZ’s key differentiators and aligned them with each audience’s specific financial planning needs and pain points.
- Brand Positioning & Creative Innovation The research culminated in a refreshed brand positioning with the tagline “Absolute Confidence. Unwavering Partnership. For Life.” – directly addressing clients’ core desires for financial confidence and proactive partnership. The supporting campaign was among the first in the financial industry to use actual client testimonials, taking advantage of new SEC rules that allowed testimonials in financial services marketing. This approach provided immediate social proof and demonstrated WHZ’s personal, comprehensive client relationships.
- Omni-Channel Campaign Execution Launched in May 2024, the campaign included:
- A refreshed website featuring client stories and testimonials
- Segment-targeted print advertisements
- Linear and streaming TV commercials featuring actual client interviews
- Tailored paid search campaigns for each segment
- Comprehensive content marketing including newspaper columns, blog posts, radio shows, podcasts, newsletters, and social media – all incorporating client stories and testimonials
